Terminologies:

 Computer:

 Computer is an electronic machine which takes data as input, processes it and produces the output.

Data:

 Raw  facts or figures.

Information:

Processed data which gives some meaningful sense.

Hardware: 

Those components/ parts of the computer which are tangible( which can be touched) are called hardware.

Software:

Those components/ parts of the computer which are intangible( which can not be touched) are called software.  

                                                        or

Software is a collection of programs which is used to for a particular task.

Types of Software:

There are three types of software.

1. System Software 

2. Utility Software

3. Application Software(Apps)

System Software:

These softwares are essential for running your computer systems.

eg. OS, Compiler etc.

Utility Software:

These softwares are meant for smooth functioning of the computer.

eg. anti-virus, disk-fragmentor etc.

Application Software:

 These softwares are meant for specific/ particular task.

eg. photoshop for photo editing.
